Buhari, AtikuTwo leaders hold 'private' meeting in Abuja

President-elect Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, April 29 met with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the Defence House in Abuja for a ‘private’ meeting.

It is believed that the two leaders met over issues surrounding the zoning of offices, but Atiku said the discussion was private.

“We just discussed private matters,” he said while addressing newsmen after the meeting.

On the zoning of offices, Atiku said,  “That is too early. This is something the leadership and the party is handling. I believe it will be resolved before the House is reconvened (in June).”

Atiku stressed that Nigerians should not expect the Buhari government to effect the changes the country needs overnight, noting it will be gradual.

“Really, changes will come. The President-elect has assured the people that, but it will not just come overnight; it has to be gradual. Definitely, there will be positive change in that matter but it will be gradual,” he said.
