Alleged Nigerian drug dealer bust in SA


A Nigerian national, Chijioke Okoli (43) has appeared at the Durban Magistrates Court in South Africa facing charges of dealing in drugs.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS)'s Durban Flying Squad Narcotics Task Team, which conducted investigations, found Okoli with flat six packets of cocaine and three mandrax tablets with a street value of R25 000.

The Nigerian national was arrested on Tuesday at around 16:30 local time at a flat on 6th Avenue in Essenwood, Durban.

Okoli was remanded in custody for further investigation.

Commenting about the drugs, KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, congratulated the members of the Flying Squad for capturing the alleged drug dealer and removing the drugs off the streets.
