Reps Adjourn Due to Low Turnout

The House of Representatives yesterday could not hold its plenary session due to the low turnout of members to the chamber. The Speaker Aminu Tambuwal who was present to preside over the business of the day expressed dissatisfaction over the low turnout of lawmakers stating that the ongoing collation of elections result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may be the reason.

To this end, the majority leader of the House, Mulikat Adeola moved that the plenary session be adjourned till Wednesday as seconded by Deputy majority leader, Leo Ogor. In an interview with Correspondents of the House shortly after the adjournment, Abdulmimin Jibril expressed satisfaction on the conduct and collation of the INEC result so far.
