President Jonathan to Live in a Luxury Fortress After Vacating Aso Rock

President Goodluck Jonathan will relocate to a luxury villa in his home town, Otuoke, after his tenure at Aso Rock expires on May 29th, the Punch reports.

Jonathan has reportedly bought off the areas surrounding his mansion in Otuoke since 2013 and developed the area it into a fortress which is currently guided by stern looking soldiers.

It is believed that the large area of land contains at least eight different structures apparently for different purposes: recreation, security posts and guard quarters. A visitor to Otuoke will not be penalised for calling the place a fortress.

The mansions, which had been undergoing construction and reconstruction in the last 10 years are now ready for habitation. The area they sit on is best described as an island.

Activities in this place had been at a lull until a couple of weeks ago. And it is largely believed that come May 29, after the expiration of his tenure, President Jonathan would relocate to the place

The first lady, Dame Patience, asides a hotel, is also said to have numerous buildings that have been converted into hostels for Federal University Otuoke female students.

Prophecy: Nigerians Will Soon Stone Buhari,Celebrate Jonathan as a Hero -Apostle Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry in an interview with PUNCH said that in a couple of months Nigerians may stone Muhammadu Buhari and celebrate Goodluck Jonathan.

Apostle Suleman made the comment when asked if Buhari is the Change Nigeria needs. He said, ''Let me say this to you. In the next six months, people may stone Buhari. The reason I’m saying this is because the expectation is too high. Nigerians expect Buhari to put gold on their tables. Two, the large chunk of followership Buhari has are youths and young people and they are impatient. Young people don’t believe in progressive change, they want change. When they say change, they see a new picture. And Buhari has been talking from the two sides of the mouth. During campaign, he told us Boko Haram would be a thing of the past. Now, you are President-elect, you are saying people shouldn’t expect a miracle. Are you a pastor? If I wanted a miracle worker, won’t I bring a Mallam or a miracle worker? When you were being voted for, we were not voting for a pastor, so don’t tell us about miracles.

''Like I said, Jonathan will be seen as a hero very soon because that’s the Nigerian story. Anybody who they feel is not doing well, get him out. The next few minutes, they miss this person.

''If by September, there is still a blink in power, people will start abusing Buhari. You said you were going to do this. Two, who are Buhari’s footmen, the large chunk are ex-PDP people and of course you know, many are still defecting. Nigerian politicians are the most shameless people (I know); they can’t bear hunger. They are defecting now to lobby for offices. If you should check the people around the man, it gives you an idea of where the man is heading. If you check the agenda, listen to their campaign, it wasn’t about issues, it was about personality. Change this man! And I wanted us to talk about what the issues are, brainstorm to make things better.

''I heard he had a five-hour meeting behind closed doors with President Jonathan. He has now seen the reality of how deep the issues are and it has now dawned on him that the man sitting there was actually managing to survive. That is one thing about leadership. When the ball is passed to you, you realise it’s deeper than you think. So I do not see change in Nigeria. The only change I see is we have a breath of fresh air, a new government. To say there will be instant change in Nigeria, I doubt. We are praying as Christians and believers. It doesn’t matter what the enemy is trying to do in Nigeria, as believers, we know that the will of God will be done.''

5 INEC Officials Arrested for Thumb-Printing Ballot Papers in Imo

5 INEC Officials Arrested for Thumb-Printing Ballot Papers in Imo

Five ad hoc officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Imo were on Saturday arrested for thumb-printing ballot papers in the governorship re-run election in the state.

The officials were arrested at Omuma Primary School in Oru East local government following an order by Mr Mike Igini, one of the resident electoral commissioners deployed to Imo for the election.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Imo, Dr Gabriel Ada, who confirmed the arrest, said that the officials were already in police custody.

Ada said the ad hoc workers connived with agents of a political party to thumb-print ballot papers leading to their arrest.

In the same vein, the election has been cancelled in Ozuh Primary School, Omuma following the arrest of 25 persons claiming to be INEC officials by military men.

The arrested persons and the election materials in their possession were taken to the Oru East local government headquarters.

APC, PDP factions form alliance to produce Senate President

APC, PDP factions form alliance to produce Senate President

It has emerged that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to capitalise on the failure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reach a consensus on the zoning of key offices in the incoming administration.

Some APC members, had, in a crucial meeting in Abuja on Thursday, April 23, disagreed on the zoning of the Senate President seat to the North-Central and Deputy Senate President to the North-East, as recommended by the party’s National Working Committee.

Reports say the PDP factions in the two chambers of the National Assembly are forming an alliance with the aggrieved APC members to produce a speaker and a senate president different from candidates approved by the APC.

At the APC meeting, the office of the deputy speaker was reportedly zoned to the South-South.

A member of the alliance who spoke to Punch anonymously said the caucus will ensure that holders of the offices are not choices of the APC leaders.

Although we are not disputing the fact that the APC should produce leaders of the National Assembly, we will ensure that those who will emerge are people we prefer, not the choices of the APC leaders.

“By doing that, we will snatch the control of the National Assembly from them, just as the APC controlled the House through Aminu Tambuwal,” the source said.

However, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had in a statement earlier this week dismissed the reports of disagreement in the party over zoning of offices. He described the claims as ‘products of hyperactive rumour mills’.

Synagogue Church Building was Demolished by Hovering Aircraft, Investigation Shows

Contrary to the views of the Lagos state govt, Mr. Biedomo Iguniwei, an explosives expert and researcher, says the collapse of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), in Ikeja, was caused by an infrasonic weapon fired at the church by the aircraft that hovered over the building, Vanguard reports.

The lagos state government had said structural failure was the reason behind the building's collapse - which killed about 166 people and injured many others.

The bomb expert disagreed. “Having looked at all the reasons adduced and personally visited the scene of the collapse and analysed the video footage of the preceding moments before the collapse it was deduced that the collapse resulted from high energy infrasound absorption by the building leading to a high energy resonance of the constituent atoms of the building,” he told a coroner court investigating the collapsed building that the

“This is even more accurate based on the fact that all other options being put forward were eliminated scientifically, creating what appears to be a mystery (due to limited knowledge) surrounding the collapse of the building.

“The foundation failure option cannot hold scientifically, because upon inspection of the foundation pads of the building, it was observed that the foundation pads are still intact with no stress or cracks on the steel and concrete pillars protruding from the earth.

“And the CCTV footage showed a collapse that is not consistent with other known buildings that have collapsed as a result of structural failure.

“As it is, it can be concluded scientifically that there were no explosives in the building when it collapsed upon the post-blast analysis done. It can also be true to safely say the building didn’t come down as a result of foundational/structural failure.”

“Because its collapse was not consistent with known cases of building collapsing structurally and coupled with the fact that the foundational pillars showed no sign of stress so far, the only reasonable explanation of the cause of collapse is the use of infrasonic weapon on the building.”
