Jonathan Challenges Buhari To A Debate In Chatham House

Jonathan Challenges Buhari To A Debate In Chatham House

President Goodluck Jonathan has challenged the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress in the March 28 election, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to a public debate at Chatam House in United Kingdom saying it would deepen democracy.
According to him, the debate calls to question “your refusal to accede to requests for a Presidential Debate here at home in Nigeria.”
Jonathan threw the challenge in an open letter to Buhari by the National Coordinator of Wind of Hope, his personal NGO, Mr. Onoriode Akpeh, and obtained by journalists in Abuja.
The organization said it would “fully sponsor” such a forum, adding “all we ask is that you state your preferred date and time.”
The letter reads: “Your Excellency, We wish to congratulate you on your recent visit to the United Kingdom where you delivered a speech at Chatham House, London on Thursday February 26 2015. Your speech at the event is clearly a source of motivation for your supporters who in recent times seem to have lost steam in their aggressive marketing of your candidacy for the office of President.
“The author of the said speech must be commended because your presentation finally acknowledged the achievements of the present government in growing our economy to be the largest in Africa with a GDP of $510 Billion and maintaining a single digit inflation regime.
“However, your action, or may we say your party’s action with regards to the entire concept and aim of the forum, calls to question, your refusal to accede to requests for a Presidential Debate here at home in Nigeria.
“In our quest to deepen democracy which thrives on robust and constructive deliberations that aids the electorate in making informed decisions, Wind of Hope hereby offers you a platform to debate with the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan before the forthcoming elections at Chatham House where you were so obviously at ease before your supporters and the international media.
“We wish to state further, our readiness to FULLY SPONSOR such a forum. All we ask is that you state your preferred date and time.
“Again, we wish to reiterate the import of such a debate in this election which you appropriately described as “Nigeria’s landmark election” in your speech at Chatham House.
“In closing, we would like to wish Your Excellency well in all your endeavors and do so with the hope that you see our request as a call to duty. Where the future of our country is at stake, no inconvenience is too great to bear. Please accept the assurance of our best regards

I’m Not In Any London Hospital – Buhari

2145608_bxyrzhcmaaizl1

The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, on Saturday dismissed reports that he visited a London hospital to attend to his health, saying: ‘I’m hale and hearty’.

Buhari was reacting to the allegation by Governor Ayo Fayose that the APC presidential candidate was being attended to in a London hospital.

But Buhari, who spoke to THISDAY from London, said: “I am hale and hearty. I am not in any hospital as claimed.

I just finished having talks with the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, in his country home.”

THISDAY had earlier called Senator Bukola Saraki, who was with Buhari. He handed over the telephone to the APC presidential flag bearer, and the following conversation ensued:

THISDAY: They said you were hospitalised in a London hospital

Buhari: I am in London with Senator Bukola Saraki, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State for a short working visit.

I just finished talks with the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in his country home.

I would be having another meeting with the Awujale of Ijebuland soon.

Apart from this, I am also visiting some friends. As you can hear from my voice, I am hale and hearty with some of my friends around me.

Charly Boy Puts Up Notice Warning Intruders That He Shoots To Kill [See Photo]

Charly Oputa, the one popularly called Area Fada, is one man who loves stirring the hornet’s nest at all times and controversies are his second name.

He should know what it means by defending his territory and to scare away trespassers from his house, Charly Boy put up a sign that he ‘shoots to kill’, warning intruders that they will be violated.

He then took to his blog to write this interesting article about protecting his zone. But it is not just about protecting his property. Charly Boy talks about setting a boundary in whatever anyone does.

Read the interesting article here:

‘We Shoot To Kill. Trespassers Will Be Violated.’

“Why this provocative warning? Many may wonder, perhaps many more are careful to hang around my property, before they get shot for loitering, for nothing.

Well, just putting people on notice that I will violently defend my territory at all times; just like the dog and animals generally, pee on objects to mark their boundaries/territories. Yes, I don mark my territory be dat, no messing around.

Though I have not shot anyone yet, I will not hesitate to use extreme violence in defending my territory if push comes to shove. Yes, I will shoot to kill first, then ask questions later. Yesooo.

When there is heavy rainfall, we need umbrella; when our homes are dirty we need broom to sweep off the dirt, and when there is unfettered increase in crime/violence, we need weapons to defend and protect us and our loved ones at all times.

We all should know that we have a right to do so; and that we not only have the right, but also the duty to take responsibility for how we allow others to treat us.

We need to be able to tell people when they act in ways that are not acceptable to us; to either shape up or you trash them. Yes, like dorty.

Setting boundaries is not about manipulation or wanting to be a control freak. Mbanu! It is impossible to have a healthy relationship with someone who has no boundaries, someone who cannot communicate directly and honestly. It’s like playing football without a goal post on a pitch that has no demarcation.

Learning to set boundaries is a necessary step in learning to befriend ourselves first.

It is one’s responsibility to take care of oneself, and this is not possible if we don’t first of all, own ourselves.

Boundaries define limits; they make clear separations between different turfs.

One of the most correct perceptions about the CharlyBoy brand is that he won’t take bullcrap from anyone and he will speak his mind at all times on matters/issues without fear or favour. After all, him send anybody?

Going forward, we need to start becoming aware of what healthy behavior and acceptable interaction dynamics are, before we can start practicing them ourselves and before we start demanding the proper treatment from others, abi?

We need to start learning how to be emotionally honest with ourselves, to start owning our feelings, and to communicate in a direct and honest manner.

It is important to say our feelings out loud; by so doing, we are affirming that we have a right to feelings. Emotions do not define us, they are a form of internal communication that help us to understand ourselves and a vital part of our being, as a component of the whole.

It is vital to own your own voice, to own your right to speak up for yourself. There is no time to be weak and not live. Find your own method to tell people shut the Bleep up and they would. Shey you dey hear?

Mark your boundaries, don’t let people poo all over you or use you as door mart.

Enough of the nonsense, people taking advantage of people, fire burn dem
